Coronavirus (COVID-19) and The Opening of The New Center

The moment has arrived. This is it! The dream for a new building has finally become a reality with our stunning new Center for the Arts. After 18 months of construction and raising over $3.1 million we are finally opening the newly renovated Center for the Arts on Thursday, March 12 at 5pm. Our first event is the art reception for Nancy Mintz: Strata, followed by an entire weekend of shows including Tom Papa, Tinsley Ellis and the Allman Betts Band.

Currently, we do not plan to cancel any upcoming performances, events, or receptions. We will be monitoring the CDC, state, and local government agencies for any updates and encourage you to take standard precautions including hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home if you are ill.

While at this time the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 coronavirus in Nevada County is low, the health and safety of patrons, artists, staff, and volunteers is always a priority. The Center for the Arts will be taking precautionary measures recommended by government authorities as we open our doors to the public.

These actions include:
  • Wiping down the seats in the theater with non-toxic disinfectant each night after performances and events
  • Daily cleaning of common areas in the building, including railings, door handles, lobby tables, and other surfaces
  • Providing hand-sanitizers in common areas.
  • Staff that interact with the public will wear gloves

Please consult our refund policy here. As a reminder all members can exchange their ticket for another show for a $4 service charge and Encore Club Members enjoy complimentary ticket exchanges. Both Members and Encore Members must notify the box office by 3pm on the day of the performance.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact our box office at 530-274-8384.

We look forward to welcoming you to The New Center for the Arts!

Warmly,

Amber Jo Manuel, Executive Director
