Mondays: (Ages 8-12) Dates: Apr. 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20, June 3

Thursdays (Ages 11-17)  Dates: Apr. 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 

Time: 4:00-5:30pm

Ages: 8+

Cost: $175 (materials included)

This class is for teens who love to draw and want to improve their skills. Students will enjoy Manga and figure drawing, 3D shading with graphite and charcoal and working in color with two teaching-artists who will team up to instruct this 6 week session.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

Denise Wey is a painter and teaching-artist residing in Nevada County. Her vibrant, large-format contemporary paintings of the Yuba River grace many homes in Nevada County, CA and beyond. Denise has a passion not only for painting, but also for teaching. Generations of children have blossomed as artists under her loving and enthusiastic guidance, and some have gone on to become professional artists, themselves. Many adults have been introduced to the joy of painting and drawing in Denise’s classes. She continues to teach classes in person and live online in Zoom.

Sarah Whooley was born into the arts, growing up in Nevada County in a family of professional musicians and performers. She is a painter and pastel artist whose work is often exhibited and sold locally. Sarah has been an active member of our local art scene for many years, facilitating drawing groups that meet weekly. She teaches in various mediums to all ages and offers privates classes. Her gentle kindness and supportive enthusiasm helps learning take root for aspiring artists of all ages!
