Theater for the Young Summer Camp (Ages 5-7yrs)
4 Sessions: June 10 – August 2, 2024
The Center for the Arts Studio Room
314 W. Main Street • Grass Valley, CA
Children’s books will serve as the launching pad for our dramatic adventures! Participants will have fun exploring movement and character, playing theatre games, acting out scenes and more. On our last day, students will experience the joy of performance with a Sharing Showcase highlighting our explorations.
4 Sessions:
• June 10-14
• June 17-21
• July 22-26
• July 29-August 2
9:00-11:30 / Studio Room:
• Bring a water bottle & simple healthy snack.
• Clothing should be easy to move in.
• Rubber-soled & closed-toe shoes; No boots or flip flops.
• 11am / Last Day Sharing Showcase / Studio Room
• 10 participants (ages 5-7) per session.
• Each session will cover different themes & books!
Youngest students must be 5 yrs. by:
• May 10 (June 10-14)
• May 17 (June 17-21)
• June 22 (July 22-26)
• June 29 (July 29-Aug.2)
Complete consent and release form by May 31st to insure child’s spot is not forfeited to waitlist.

About the Instructor:
Paulette Gilbert has worked with children for nearly 30 years as a teacher, actor and director. She holds a BA in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s degree in Theatre from Louisiana Tech University. Her extensive experience with professional companies across the country includes a national tour with the Missoula Children’s Theatre. For the past 17 years she has taught and produced theatre for young people in Nevada County. She is thrilled to be a Director for The Main Stage Playmakers. Past productions include The Princess and the Pea, The Velveteen Rabbit, Silver’s Secret: A Pirate Adventure, The Reluctant Dragon, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas and The Emperor’s New Clothes. Paulette is also a regional freelance theatrical costume designer and proprietor of SANDbags.
