Hearing Loop Assistive Listening system offers crystal-clear sound!
Patrons with hearing loss will be amazed when they hear the clear, vibrant sound produced by the Hearing Loop Assistive Listening system installed in The Center’s new auditorium. Hearing loop systems are currently being used at notable venues, such as the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. House of Representatives, Yankee Stadium, Lincoln Center, and Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream factory tours, to name a few.
Some of the benefits offered by hearing loop assistive listening systems include:
- Convenience. No need to make advance arrangements, simply show up for the performance and switch your hearing device to the t-coil program setting.
- Enhanced sound quality. The sound from the performance is transmitted directly to the recipients hearing device which is adjusted to their need, providing clear sound, eliminating irritating background noise.
- Inconspicuous. Enables patrons with hearing loss to focus on the performance without directing attention to their hearing loss. Note, the hearing loss remains unnoticeable not the person
- ADA compliant. Meets all of the requirements for assistive listening devices stipulated by the American Disabilities Act.
- Internationally recognized. Hearing loops are the universal standard for assisted listening systems regulated by International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. The symbol for hearing loop systems as shown is internationally recognized and displayed in venues all over the world.
Most modern hearing aids and all cochlear implants come fitted with T-coils. But don’t worry if your hearing aid does not have a telecoil, hearing loop receivers and headphones are available upon request.
The hearing loop system is perfect for performing arts venues like The Center because it delivers sound directly to a telecoil (T-coil) receiver within a hearing device. In effect, the hearing aid becomes an in-ear speaker that adjusts the sound accordingly and eliminates annoying background noise.
The Center’s hearing loop system will be installed by Copper Loop Assistive Listening Devices, a local Nevada City company owned by Jeff Klus. When it comes to hearing loop systems, Klus speaks from personal experience:
“As a result of my own hearing loss I have become a devoted advocate of hearing loop systems. My wish is that all hearing aid users and those with hearing loss in general will be able to benefit from the use of this assistive listening system at some point in their lives.”
