In January, The Center for the Arts began our In Conversation With series to introduce you to experts on a variety of topics throughout our community. We’ve learned about Ayurvedic lifestyle, hiking in Nevada County, chocolate, and so much more. We are excited to spring into another season of conversations happening live on Zoom, Sundays at 4:00 p.m. Each episode includes an interactive Q&A and anyone can participate. Members join for free and have access to replay past episodes in our members’ library online.
Our host, Jacob Freydont-Attie is ready to take us on new adventures as we explore topics in food, nature, art, and lifestyle.
On March 14, 2021, we are looking forward to speaking with Alicia Funk, co-author of Living Wild—Gardening, Cooking and Healing with Native Plants of California. She’ll be helping us navigate the local edible plants in our area. On March 21, we will be getting creative with LeeAnn Brook, and on March 28, Angie Tomey of Little Boy Flowers helps us plant our own spring flowers.
On April 4, 2021 we will be premiering “The Hill Witches Of Nevada County, A Journey of Healing”, a powerful documentary that follows Steve Giardina’s (Golden Era Lounge) journey of living with stage four pancreatic cancer and his use of medical cannabis to help mitigate the effects of chemotherapy and improve his quality of life. The online screening will be followed by a conversation with Dr. D’Andre, Wade Laughter, and Steve Giardina.
On April 11, we will be talking all about brewing beer with David Cowie from Three Forks Brewery & Bakery. He started off as a hobbyist and is eager to share tips to make your home brew experience a success. Stay tuned for more episodes to be announced. Topics include wine, wildflowers and The Future of Food.
