Learn Playwriting with Patricia Cotter

The Center for the Arts is offering a new virtual class for adults 17 and up. Playwriting 101: Writing The Short Play teaches the specific art of writing a satisfying ten-minute play with the end goal of having students complete a rough first-draft by focusing on the fundamentals of playwriting (character, structure, dialogue, action, and conflict). The four-week Zoom class starts Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 4:00pm and is taught by critically acclaimed and award-winning playwright, Patricia Cotter.

In Conversation With invites you to explore creative topics with local experts in Food, Nature, Art and Lifestyle. Each episode includes an interactive Q&A online via Zoom. Protecting Our Community’s Investment in the Arts

After an extensive multi-million renovation, The Center for the Arts in Grass Valley, CA reopened with a grand celebration on March 12 – only to have to shutter its doors the very next day due to the pandemic. The Center is launching an emergency fund to sustain operations and protect the community’s investment in their state-of-the-art venue for performing and visual arts.
