Rock Band Summer Camp 2026

Week Long Camp (Full Day)

 

The Center for the Arts, Center Studios

314 W. Main St. • Grass Valley, CA

 

Dates: June 29th- July 3rd, 2026

Time: 9:00am-3:30pm

Ages: 9-13 (may be some flexibility with age)

 

 

Rock Band Camp

• • • We will spend our time forming connections (personally and musically), learning new instrumental techniques, developing musical group dynamics, and diving into how to perform.  The students will also create a band name, work on a logo, and create fun photo/group posts for promotion.  
    • Ideal age range 9-13, on instruments guitar, bass, keyboards, vocals, drums, etc…  Students should bring their own instruments (please reach out if you don’t have access).  Guitars, bass, strings must have a pickup, or some way to amplify their instrument.  If you have a child outside of this age range (or instrumentation) that you think will be a good fit, please contact us. 
    • Develop a personal experience of music within a group, and work together with others to create something powerful, exciting, and full of magic.  Camp will culminate in an end of the week performance in the state-of-the-art Center for the Arts theater.  

                         A fun camp focused on learning and performing rock and roll songs!    

 

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:

Ananda Vaughan has been teaching, performing, and producing music in the Grass Valley area for nearly 20 years.  He works as guitar and rock band teacher at Nevada City School of the Arts, and currently mentors private students from ages 5 to 75.  A guitarist and music lover since very young, his wide range of musical experiences have led him to develop a constantly evolving approach to making and teaching music.  Music is a true joy for him, and he spreads this joy to all who study with him.  

 

Beau Askew, owner/operator of The Drum Loft, has had a passion for drumming and teaching for many years. Beau knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a music career. Born and raised in Grass Valley, California, he has spent the last 13 years sharing his love for drums with the community, has worked with hundreds of students, and performed with bands both locally and nationally.
