The Center for the Arts’ “In Conversation With…” series will continue on May 16 with a discussion featuring local wine experts John Gilman and Megan Hart. What makes this talk like no other is that you can join in-person in The Center’s new state of the art facility. The event will also be broadcast if you prefer to sip wine from your home.
You’ll learn the basics of wine tasting and participants both virtual and in-person have the option of purchasing the three wines that will be tasted: a red, white and sparkling. Wine tasting packages cost $48 and can be ordered from The Center for the Arts. Virtual tasters can pick up their wines any time Tuesday through Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In-person tasters will have their wines chilled and ready on the day of the event. There are a limited number of wine tasting packages available so make sure to order early.
Co-host John Gilman earned his diploma from Sommelier Society of America and has taken his love for wine to a professional level. He will soon open a wine shop – New West Wine Co. – inside the historic Holbrooke Hotel.
Megan Hart has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and is currently a WSET3 candidate. She operated Nevada City’s fine food pop-up Polly’s Paladar and since then has launched her own company, Hart House Wine Company.
Together, Gilman and Hart hope to offer a deeper understanding of wine and sustainable practices while enjoying tastes of their favorite varieties.
Due to COVID state regulations a limited number of people are allowed inside. Get tickets early to save your spot.
Members of The Center for the Arts have access to free online content including the “In Conversation With…” series as well as replays. During the COVID-19 pandemic, The Center has arranged its schedule to offer quality programming while remaining safe and observing necessary protocol. Anyone over the age of 21 can participate in this talk.
