10×10 Community Art Project and Youth Arts Fundraiser

Art Works Gallery is celebrating their 10th and 11th anniversaries with 10×10, a community art project and fundraiser benefiting Youth Arts Education Programs at The Center for the Arts. You can pick up a 10×10 canvas at Art Works ($10 suggested donation), decorate it, and donate it back to Art Works. Your creation will be displayed and offered for sale to raise money for Youth Arts Scholarships at The Center for the Arts.

Art Works Gallery is a co-op of talented Nevada County artists. They present their work in a welcoming retail environment downtown Grass Valley, California. They initially launched the 10×10 benefit last year when COVID sidelined the project as well as the gallery’s 10th Anniversary. This year they are celebrating two anniversaries in one. Stop by the Gallery on Saturday, June 12 from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. during the Second Saturdays Art Walk where the donated artwork will be on display. They are eager to bring the community together in support of the arts. A similar fundraiser hosted by Art Works in 2015 brought in over $2,000 for NEO. They hope to match that success in their efforts to support The Center.
During the pandemic, The Center has created more programs to support working families and children in the community. We continue to adapt and expand our Youth Arts Education programs to enrich the lives of students of all ages. From Family Fun Day to after school programs and summer camps, The Center offers Youth Arts Education to support the local school district, stepping in to provide a creative curriculum throughout the year.

Stop by Art Works during gallery hours to register and pick up your blank canvas. The suggested donation to participate is $10. Complete your artwork and donate the finished piece back to Art Works before May 23, 2021. Your piece will be displayed for sale in the window display at Art Works Gallery or in the lobby at The Center for the Arts from May 25 through June 12, 2021. All proceeds benefit Youth Arts Education Programs at The Center. Detailed information, including the entry form for this event may be found at Art Works Gallery’s event page: artworksgalleryco-op.com/events.html
