Everyone’s heard of Black Friday, but did you know that Giving Tuesday (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving) celebrates the beginning of the charitable gift season? It’s a time for you to make your 2019 tax-deductible donations and a critical time for non-profits to secure funding for the New Year.
This fundraiser benefiting California Heritage: Indigenous Research Project (CHIRP) features renowned performers Lyla June and MaMuse. There will also be song and story shared by Nisenan Tribe members and art featured from CHIRP’s Visibility Through Art Collection. The Nisenan Tribal members of the Nevada City Rancheria are original, lineal descendants of the Nisenan, who were here before the gold rush and remain here in their ancestral homelands today.

The Center for the Arts and Goodtimes Boardshop have partnered with Skate MD for a fundraiser and skateboarding event. Local band Cherry Rats performs at 8pm.

You can donate your tickets back to The Center in exchange for a membership! It’s a great way to give back. Members are rewarded with a virtual front-row seat to all creative experiences and events The Center has coming in 2021. All the stars came out to the Veterans Memorial Hall on Friday, October 11th for The Center for the Arts 2019 Gala. This important fundraising event raised support for The New Center’s arts programming, capital campaign, operations and youth arts education programs.
