Creative Art Class for Young Children
Class Description
Calling all young artists! In this playful, hands-on art class, children will explore painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media while discovering the joy of creating. Each week introduces new materials, techniques, and creative themes designed to spark imagination and build confidence in a supportive, encouraging environment. Students will be invited to experiment, express themselves, and celebrate their unique artistic ideas while having plenty of fun along the way. No experience is necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to create!
Class Expectations
This class is designed for children ages 4–7 who are ready to participate in a group setting with gentle guidance from the instructor. Students should be comfortable separating from their caregiver for the duration of class, following simple directions, sharing materials, and participating respectfully with their classmates. We celebrate creativity over perfection, and every child’s artwork is encouraged and valued.
CONSENT FORM required for Participation. Complete by Sept 5, 2026
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Sarah Whooley was born into the arts, growing up in Nevada County in a family of professional musicians and performers. She is a painter and pastel artist whose work is often exhibited and sold locally. Sarah has been an active member of our local art scene for many years, facilitating drawing groups that meet weekly. She teaches in various mediums to all ages and offers privates classes. Her gentle kindness and supportive enthusiasm helps learning take root for aspiring artists of all ages!
