ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
‘Elemental Beings’ is a collection of stories about the integration of sound and light and how the natural cycles of the elements (fire, water, earth, air) are in harmony by being in a constant state of balancing and rebalancing through symbiotic relationships.

We are seeking original artwork in any medium that stands out as the misfit of a studio or art practice. This exhibition is about artworks that don’t quite fit in. We’re looking for your anomalies that don’t play nice with the rest of your art. Maybe a great one-off. What about the piece you made that started an entirely new body of work? Take a look around the nooks and crannies of your studio. Do what you have to do, but find art that has been waiting for its time in the spotlight- because it may never get a second chance.

Chris Dacre, Artist & Art Educator at Sierra College and American River College
As an artist, Chris Dacre experiments with concept, technique and medium to explore new ideas and play with imagery. His belief is that through those experiments something will spring out at him and lead him to a new way of working- a new concept. Chris lives in the woods outside of Nevada City and teaches art at Sierra College and American River College.
