Stylistic Elements Workshop, Adults.

Kealoha tailors his workshops to match the age group and learning goals of the participants. He has taught such diverse groups as professional writers to incarcerated adults. This workshop takes participants through hands-on writing experiences, encouraging them to find their own poetic voice. Kealoha will teach attendees to write their own poems, and develop the basic skills to be able to perform their poems with confidence. Curriculum is cumulative, each day building on the previous day’s work, and culminating in sharing the week’s poetry.

About The Instructor: Kealoha

The first Poet Laureate of Hawaiʻi, Kealoha has performed throughout the world — from the White House to Hawaiʻi’s ʻIolani Palace, from Brazil to Switzerland. He was featured on HBO’s Brave New Voices series and was honored as a “National Slam Legend” at the prestigious National Poetry Slam in Chicago.
