World Music Program & Virtual Choir

Students ages 5-12 will explore the music and cultures of India, Mali, & Greece. Starting on March 1, 2021, the 12-week program requires no previous musical experience and is free to kids and their families. There are no set class times to worry about – weekly activities are available on demand, so choose when you want to tune in to have fun!

Students have the opportunity to participate in a “virtual world children’s choir” – just like those other virtual performances trending on YouTube these days. Songs selected from our Music for Young Minds program will be used to create a video which will be featured during WorldFest Day 2021!

It’s easy to use the interactive digital platform to learn and get creative. Learn songs, dances, recipes, and stories from three different cultures: you’ll be up and away from the screen, on your feet singing, learning, and having fun!

This musical safari is led by expert adventure guide: Shannon Devir, an accomplished music teacher and flutist.

The experience is completed by participating in a concert where you sing and dance alongside the same musicians who have guided you through the course. (Of course, we’ll be virtual if it’s not safe to celebrate in person.)
