Offered four times a year, these are free all-day events geared toward families and introduces many young children in our community to their first-ever arts experience. We offer families the opportunity to participate in healthy art-based activities together, such as face painting, crafts, and a balloon artist and other fun entertainment.

Performers & Activities
Aesop Bops! David Gonzalez
Fast-paced, funny, and packed with audience participation, Aesop Bops! features a potpourri of Aesop’s classic stories including The Lion and the Mouse, The Fisherman and His Wife, and The Turtle’s Shell. This feast of funky, physical storytelling leaves young audiences feeling like they had just performed the show too! The Yak-Yak Band rocks, and rolls out the red carpet – inviting kids to join in the fun. Also available as solo and duet with keyboard.
David Gonzalez is a professional storyteller, poet, playwright, musician and public speaker. He is a cultural ambassador for the U.S. State Department, and is the proud recipient of the International Performing Arts for Youth “Lifetime Achievement Award for Sustained Excellence“. Mr. Gonzalez was named a Fellow of the Joseph Campbell Foundation and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for “Unique Theatrical Experience” for The Frog Bride. David has created numerous productions, including the critically acclaimed ¡Sofrito! with The Latin Legends Band, and MytholoJazz, both of which enjoyed sold-out runs at New Victory Theater. Sleeping Beauty was co-commissioned by the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Brooklyn College, and The McCallum Theater. David was a featured performer at the National Storytelling Festival, and appeared for three seasons at the Royal National Theatre in London. The Man of the House was commissioned by, and premiered at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 2013.

AirAligned aerial dance group was founded in 2002 by Artistic Directors Tresa Honaker and Joseph Simms. We are an Aerial Arts Performance Group & Aerial Arts Academy. Our teachers are professional performers and educators in dance, martial arts, gymnastics, fitness and aerial arts. The Teaching Academy is located in the Grass Valley/Nevada City area and the Performance headquarters are partnered with Warehouse Artist Lofts in the Historic R Street District of Midtown Sacramento.
