The Center For The Arts Presents Creative Writing Workshop
Tuesdays | August 11 – September 29
4:30pm - 6:30pm
The Center for the Arts
This eight-week writing class will teach you how to craft engaging personal essays based on your lived experiences. We’ll explore the following topics: how to identify the heart of the story (it’s not always what you think!), how to give the story a shape, how to find your voice, and how to choose compelling details that make your life come alive on the page. Each week we’ll have short reading and writing assignments and the opportunity to share your work with the class for constructive feedback. These classes will be full of insight and discovery as we will learn about ourselves and each other in a nurturing environment suitable for beginners as well as experienced storytellers looking to sharpen their skills and meet other writers.

Dates: August 11, 18, 25, September 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 (8 weeks)
