HIP-HOP LEVEL I

Class begins with a warm-up in the center, progresses through isolations, and ends with a culminating combination. The instructor will incorporate rhythmic qualities of music into the dancers’ bodies as well as learning to “follow the leader”; varying in approach and technique. The emphasis is on finding a comfort zone for the dancer, and the instructor will encourage individuality and confidence in movement.

Instructor Sierra Brokenshire will create a fun learning environment and encourage beginning hip hop dancers to elevate their skills!

About Sierra: Sierra Brokenshire, born and raised in Grass Valley, CA, has immersed herself in the world of dance for 13 years. Her journey began at age 8 with Connection Dance Project, where her passion ignited and her path became clear. For eight years, she honed her skills and deepened her love for the art, exploring various styles and techniques that shaped her unique approach.

Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to share her expertise, Sierra launched her own dance business, focusing on teaching hip hop to children ages 6-14. Her innovative summer dance camps, which she has independently produced for the past three years, have become a local sensation, providing young dancers with performance opportunities at multiple community events.

Today, Sierra continues to inspire and mentor young dancers through her hip hop classes, blending her extensive experience. She remains an active student herself, constantly seeking new ways to evolve and enrich her teaching methods.
