Remembering Michael Christopher Black, through his photographs.   

The Center for the Arts presents “In Remembrance of a Peaceful Warrior” featuring photographs by the late Michael Christopher Black.  The exhibit is curated by Michael’s mother, Sally Black, and will be on display in The Granucci Gallery from Friday, April 2 through Friday, May 7, 2021. The official opening will be held in the Kerby Lobby on April 2 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

10×10 Community Art Project and Youth Arts Fundraiser

Art Works is celebrating their 10th and 11th anniversaries with a community art project and fundraiser benefiting Youth Arts Education Programs at The Center for the Arts. You can pick up a 10×10 canvas at Art Works ($10 suggested donation), decorate it, and donate it back to Art Works. Your creation will be displayed and offered for sale to raise money for Youth Arts Scholarships at The Center for the Arts.

Spring Registration is Open for Youth Arts Education at The Center

Registration is open for youth art classes at The Center for the Arts.  Spring sessions start the first week in April. Students ages 8 to 14 can take part in Artmaking, Hip Hop, Theater Dance, and Aerial Arts. Classes of ten students or less meet twice a week at The Center located in downtown Grass Valley. Full and partial scholarships are available.

The Chris Cain Quartet Celebrates Album Release From The Center

The Center for the Arts is serving up a soulful stew of Memphis-style electric blues with the Chris Cain Quartet.  On Friday, April 9, 2021 Chris Cain, Greg Rahn, Steve Evans, and Sky Garcia will celebrate the release of Cain’s latest album, Raisin’ Cain live From The Center.
