George Cloud
A Retrospective of Works on Paper

Sunday, June 14
Artist Reception
2:00 to 4:00PM

George Cloud has lived in Nevada City since 1971 and has been drawing for as long as he can remember.

This exhibit is a retrospective of his work going back to graduate school at San Jose State where he earned a Masters Degree in Art. He thinks of that time as his visionary period. After college he moved to Nevada City where he bought property with friends who founded The Foothill Theatre Company. Seduced by theater, George then entered his theatrical period when, for thirteen years, he created posters and helped build and paint sets. Seeking a more personal expression he next entered the dreamtime where, for seven years, he explored the imagery of his dreams. Now he finds himself in that time which he calls "Symbolism Run Amuck" where he plays with any image that captivates him.
