The Off Center Stage

Overview
Our studio theater, located at the back of the Center at 315 Richardson Street, offers independent theater companies, small musical groups, and lecturers a flexible venue for audiences of up to 100 people.

Parking

There is 3-hour metered street parking on West Main Street and Richardson Street, plus a small parking lot with 12 spaces (including one ADA space) immediately adjacent to the loading doors for staff and production vehicles and a larger 24-space (including one ADA space) public parking lot just west of the small lot (12 of these spaces are by permit only Monday through Friday between 7 am and 6 pm). Each parking lot has it's own access to Richardson Street.

 

Seating

Movable chairs on five levels (including the main floor) allow for a maximum capacity of 100 seats.

                       

Stage Area

The performance space is on the audience floor level, and there are no wings and no proscenium.

            Width: 25 ft.

            Depth: 15 ft.

ADA

There is permanent wheelchair access to all areas of the theater. The staff and production parking lot contains one ADA space, and the upper public parking lot also contains one ADA space.

 

Grid

The grid is dead-hung 10'-6" from the floor, and access is via stepladders.

 

Soft Goods

There are no permanent draperies or soft goods in the stage area.

 

Lighting

            Control

                        Both house and stage lighting, as well as work lights, are controlled from the lighting/audio platform area at the

                        south end of the auditorium.

            Connectors

                        All connectors are Edison.

            Electrics

                        All electrics are dead hung 10'-6" from the floor.

            Console

                        ETA 1226 and Levitron MC7016 16/32 channel microplex memory console, located on the lighting/audio platform
                         at the south end of  the auditorium.

            Distribution

                        There are no stage lighting circuits. All instruments are hard-patched into modular-grid mounted dimmer packs.

            Color

                        A limited amount of Roscolux color is available. Original color must be restored during strike.

            Equipment Inventory

                                    Color frames: fourteen 7½" frames and eught 6" frames

            Access for focusing is via step ladders.

            Standard House Plot

                        The house plot consists of a single full-stage wash of no-color pink, warm and cool high side light, and warm and cool backlight.

  Projection

Two small 4'x4' portable screens are available. There is no projector in the theater.

 

Sound System

The sound system is minimal, consisting of a Peavey XR684F 9-channel mixer and amp, two Peavey TLM 2X speakers, and an assortment of mic stands.

                       

Communications

There is no permanent intercom system available.

 

Monitoring

There is no permanent video monitoring available.

Loading

Primary loading access is via double doors on the main floor level on the west side of the theater (behind the main seating area), opening onto a 12-space parking lot for staff and production vehicles, which is accessible from Richardson Street.

Backstage Support Areas

            Dressing rooms

                        Two dressing rooms are located immediately off stage left on the main floor level and are equipped with tables and mirrors.                         One  room will accommodate 2 people, and the other will accommodate 4 people.

            Restrooms are shared with the public.

 

Laundry Facilities

There are no laundry facilities at the Center; however, local laundromats are located nearby.
