The Center Stage

Overview
Our 300 seat theater has become Grass Valley's premier venue for the performing
arts. With permanently installed sound and lighting systems, an 1,800 square
foot stage, tiered continental style seating and a 1500 square foot maple dance
floor, this venue is readily adaptable to musical concerts, theater and dance
presentations, seminars, workshops, trade shows, exhibitions, festivals and
parties.

Parking
There is 3-hour metered street parking on West Main
Street and Richardson Street, plus a small parking lot with 12 spaces
(including an ADA space) immediately adjacent to the loading doors for staff
and production vehicles and a larger 24-space (including one ADA space) public
parking lot just west of the small lot (12 of these spaces are by permit only Monday through Friday
between 7 am and 6 pm). Each
parking lot has it's own access to Richardson Street.
Seating
Seating consists of seven
rows of permanent tiered upholstered seating plus room for movable chairs on
the main floor in front of the stage. The combined total maximum capacity is
300 seats.

This is a proscenium stage,
with access from the house consisting of two sets of two-step movable stair
units on stage right and stage left.

There is permanent wheelchair
access to the auditorium and public areas, but not to the stage. The staff and
production parking lot contains two handicap spaces, and the upper public
parking lot contains one handicap space.

All pipe battens, electrics
and soft goods are dead hung. The height from the stage floor is 12'-6", and
access is via one 8-foot ladder and one 10-foot ladder.

Lighting
Control

are no stage lighting circuits. Instruments are hard-patched into
modular grid-mounted dimmer packs.

limited supply of Roscolux color is available. Original color must be
restored during strike.

broad cycs and two
1000-w single cell broad cycs.

addition, three 6" fresnels located on the FOH pipe can be used either
separately as specials or in tandem as an additional downstage
front wash, and a small 1k follow spot can be located in the
rear of the house, near the lighting console.

Projection
An Optoma EP1691 2500-lumen
DLP projector is permanently mounted in the FOH position, utilizing the cyc as
a projection surface. One 10'x10' hanging screen, one 7'x7' hanging screen and
two smaller 4'x4' portable screens are also available.

Primary loading access is via
double doors on the main floor level on the north side of the theater (house
right), opening onto a 12-space parking lot for staff and production vehicles,
which is accessible from Richardson Street. There is additional loading access
through the main public entrance to the theater from the Gallery/Lobby on the
south side of the theater (house left).

The distance from the front
of the stage to the lighting and sound consoles and follow spot position is 40
feet.
Backstage Support
A combination Green Room /
Dressing Room SR will accommodate 18 people and is equipped with
tables and mirrors. Access to the stage is up 3 steps. Restrooms are shared
with the public. Contracted for an additional charge, the Granucci
multi-purpose room, which has access for rolling carts and hand trucks, can be
used as a chorus or rehearsal room; however, access is only through double
doors at the sidewalk level on Main Street or through the main lobby area.

facilities at the venue, however commercial laundromats are located nearby.
