This is the sixth show for Sierra Sirens Productions, their most recent successes being Rhapsody in Blue, The Music of George and Ira Gershwin in June and Tangled and Dark, A Tribute to Bonnie Raitt in February.
The Sirens will be joined by special guest and former Nevada City girl, Alela Diane (Menig), fresh off more than a year of national and European touring. Alela’s two recently released albums, The Pirate’s Gospel and To Be Still, both received critical acclaim, establishing her as a force to reckoned with on the international folk music scene.
Lorraine Gervais has performed regularly on the west coast for many years with a variety of different jazz groups, as well as fronting her own R&B band, Lorraine Gervais and the Burning Sensations.
Brielle Morgan, a newer addition to the Foothill music scene, performs a wide range of musical styles, including jazz and musical theater, recently singing for Twin Cities Concert Association and the Folsom Lake Symphony Orchestra, along with her operatic Bel Canto Quartet.
Litza Henry, most recently a regular guest with George Souza, at one time had a disco band with “The Godfather of Punk” Jonathan Richman and went on to sing back-up vocals on Richman’s Surrender album.
The Sirens will be backed by an fantastic group of musicians including Tom Menig (guitar, mandolin) a.k.a. Alela’s dad, Larry Tracy (pedal steel guitar), Steve Wall (guitar), Charlie Faber (bass) a.k.a. Lorraine’s husband, Mark McCartney (drums) and a special appearance by Lorraine’s son, Tom Bevitori, on a duet with his lady-love, Alela. It’s going to be a Honky Tonkin’, waltzin’, two-steppin’ and even foot-stompin’ family affair, and of course dancing is encouraged!
