The Center is committed to building and maintaining Nevada County as a destination for the arts. The Center for the Arts is committed to bringing a diverse array of programming to western Nevada County, including music, dance, theater, film, visual art, comedy, youth arts education and literature. Julie Baker Innovation Fund brings South African Dance to The Center for The Arts

In 2015 Julie Baker gathered a select group of visionaries to create The Innovation Fund. The purpose of this fund was to expand The Center’s ability to take artistic risks and produce newer works. Through the Innovation Fund, The Center has provided a stage for new programming opportunities and a laboratory for collaborations that explore diversity, innovation and community. It is place where multicultural work is introduced in order to educate our audiences, where new artistic experiences are brought to the community, and it provides an incubator for new ideas and artistry. Fall Membership Drive 2017

October 5 through November 10, 2017 We are grateful to our members whose support make The Center the greatest! Become A Member   The recent Open House on October 5th included Open Studios Art Preview and the kickoff for our Fall Membership Drive with special incentives to join during the month of October. Because ticket sales cover only 60% of their annual expenses, The Center relies on membership support from our patrons. Income from membership allows The Center to provide free community events and programs that benefit local youth and provide opportunities for the visual arts in our community!
