Phil’s Guild is a group of 8 local artists who enjoy painting together and have each been mentored in the past by Phil Brown, a renowned landscape painter whose focus is the Yuba River. This exhibit includes 40 paintings and pastels of nature by this accomplished and diverse group and is intended as a tribute to Phil.
Here are examples of each artist’s work:
Judy Gazzaneo enjoys dimensions of reality and imagination that painting has helped her to appreciate.
Kathleen Fenton’s pastel portraits of nature are characterized by an expressive use of color.
Jerry Gazzaneo’s acrylic paintings are whimsical, colorful and fun.
Susan Sugarman loves being in nature and wants her art to reflect this love
Cindy Moffatt, a landscape architect, translates her knowledge of natural history and her experiences hiking in nature into landscape paintings.
Daly Merrill’s love of art comes from the interplay of light and shadow and the interaction of colors.
